Meet Your Provider
I'm Abby, Founder & Clinician at Fem Forward Health.
I'm a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner who believes women's healthcare can, and should, be different.
Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of caring for patients across many healthcare settings, from nursing homes, hospice, and home health to sports medicine, cardiac rehabilitation, women’s health and primary care. Each experience taught me something different, but one lesson has stayed with me more than any other.
I cared for countless older women who had lost strength, independence, and confidence long before they lost their lives. I saw frailty become accepted as an inevitable part of aging. I watched women struggle to get out of a chair, fear falling, lose muscle and mobility, and become increasingly dependent on others, not because they lacked determination, but because no one had shown them earlier that there were opportunities to preserve and build their health. At the same time, I cared for women of all ages whose symptoms were too often minimized or explained away. Fatigue, brain fog, weight changes, low libido, anxiety, poor sleep, and mood changes were frequently attributed to "just getting older," stress, or simply handed another prescription without taking the time to understand why they were happening. Younger women struggling with fatigue, acne, weight changes, painful or irregular cycles, mood changes, and a sense that something simply wasn’t right, given band-aid fixes only to find themselves twenty years later still searching for answers to problems that were never truly addressed.
I started to wonder: what if we stopped waiting for women to lose their health before teaching them how to build it?
I understand this journey because I’ve lived it, too. For years, I followed the advice I was given without ever realizing there were deeper questions I could be asking about my own health. In my late twenties, I began experiencing hormonal and metabolic symptoms I had always associated with women much later in life. It forced me to start asking questions about my own physiology that I realized I had never been taught to ask, and I quickly learned that many of the answers and support I was looking for weren’t going to come from a routine primary care visit.
The more I learned, the clearer something else became: I knew I would never fit neatly into the traditional mold of healthcare. I wanted the time and freedom to ask deeper questions, look at the whole picture, and help women get the answers I spent years looking for myself.
That journey, combined with my clinical training, shaped the vision for Fem Forward Health.
My philosophy is simple: healthcare shouldn’t just be about preventing or treating disease. It should help women actively build the health, strength, and resilience to live long and live well. The endocrine system doesn’t operate in isolation. Hormones influence metabolism, muscle, bone, brain, cardiovascular health, and how we feel and function. It’s time we started treating them like the whole-body signals they are.
Before entering medicine, my foundation was in Exercise Science and Human Physiology, with continued education in strength and performance. That background still shapes the way I practice today. I believe building and preserving muscle is one of the most powerful investments a woman can make in her long-term health.
That’s why progressive resistance training is a cornerstone of care at Fem Forward Health—not an afterthought.
Women are constantly told to lose weight and “exercise more,” but are rarely taught how to actually train, fuel their bodies, build muscle, and progressively get stronger in a way that supports their health for decades to come.
Too often, weight-loss plans or medications are introduced without a meaningful conversation about muscle preservation, metabolic adaptation, adequate nutrition, or how training should evolve throughout the process.
I believe women deserve a different approach—one that isn’t just focused on taking up less space, but on building the strength, capacity, and resilience to live well for a lifetime.
When clinically appropriate, I integrate comprehensive evaluation beyond traditional biomarkers, bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, metabolic medicine, nutrition, and lifestyle strategies into an individualized plan designed around your unique physiology, goals, and stage of life. I believe exceptional care begins with understanding why you're experiencing symptoms, not relying on guesswork or one-size-fits-all treatment.
I want women to leave here understanding their bodies, trusting themselves, and knowing they have more influence over their future than they realize. Because what we learn now doesn't stop with us. We get to change the conversation for the women who come after us.
That's what Forward means.
It means understanding your body instead of fearing it. Building health instead of waiting for disease. Choosing strength instead of accepting frailty.
Our goal isn't simply to help women live longer. It's to help them feel fully alive for the years they're given, and carry that forward for generations to come.
Welcome to Fem Forward Health. I'm so glad you’re here and I’m honored to be part of your journey.
